Duties: Postdoctoral Fellow in Large Eddy Simulations of the Atmospheric Boundary Layer. In this project, we have a vision of further developing the Large Eddy Simulation technique for the atmospheric boundary layer for very large problems, such as simulating the full diurnal cycle with both the nighttime and daytime turbulence well resolved. We intend to examine all numerical aspects, and especially the lower boundary condition, with the aim of making the code efficient for exascale computing. Postdoctoral positions are appointed primarily for purposes of research
Minimum Requirements: Applicants are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country in Meteorology, Oceanography, Climate Science, Fluid Mechanics, Applied Mathematics or in a related field. The degree should have been completed no more than three years before the deadline for applications. An older degree may be acceptable under special circumstances, which may involve sick leave, parental leave, clinical attachment, elected positions in trade unions, or similar. The assessment is based on previous research experience. Doctoral candidates may apply for the position if they expect to receive the PhD degree before the starting date of the position.
