Duties: The Centre for Clinical Research, Epidemiology, Modelling and Evaluation is seeking to appoint a Senior Research Associate with substantive experience in epidemiology modelling. Ideally the person will also have experience and knowledge of epidemiology and health care systems in sub Saharan Africa, and Malawi in particular
Requirements: The post-holder will have an MSc or equivalent in a relevant subject area, and a PhD (or equivalent). Substantive experience in epidemiologic modelling as evidenced by publications. Experience of oral presentations at national and international conferences and of being first author on publications in peer review journals. It is desirable for the post-holder to have experience and knowledge of epidemiology in sub Saharan Africa in addition to knowledge of health care systems in sub Saharan Africa, and Malawi in particular. Teaching experience at post graduate level would be an advantage

Ideally the person will also have experience and knowledge of epidemiology and health care systems in sub Saharan Africa, and Malawi in particular. The post holder will join a team based across UCL, Imperial College London and the College of Medicine, Malawi, who are working to develop a model of health care and health provision in Malawi. This involves consideration of all major health conditions and the effect of interventions. The post-holder may be expected to travel domestically and internationally (less than 30 days per year). There will be opportunities to attend relevant training courses. The post is full time and is available for 4 years, in the first instance.
