This interdisciplinary study aims to contribute to the knowledge needed to better prevent violence against children. In all participating countries the project will entail a data collection strategy with tablet-supported interviews and the collection of biological data from 150 participants. The role holder will be responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive and secure project coordination, data collection and data storage strategy
Requirements: The successful candidate must be educated to higher degree level (PhD or Masters) or have equivalent relevant experience. The role-holder should be able to demonstrate an understanding of research and data collection needs and have the ability to translate project needs into effective database solutions. Experience in design, construction, implementation and documentation of complex epidemiological or biological databases for research purposes is essential
   
Text: EBLS Data Manager (Fixed Term) Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 November 2019 in the first instance. Applications are invited for the position of Data Manager at the Institute of Criminology. We are looking for a person with excellent IT and organisational skills who can provide data management support to an innovative interdisciplinary research project. This is a new full-time position, which is available from 1st July, 2018, or as soon as possible thereafter. The funds for this post are available until 30th November, 2019 in the first instance. We are looking for a full-time Data Manager for the Evidence for Better Lives Study (EBLS), an integrated research, impact and capacity-building programme based in 8 middle-income countries: Romania, Jamaica, Philippines, Vietnam, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and Ghana, and based at the Institute of Criminology. This interdisciplinary study aims to contribute to the knowledge needed to better prevent violence against children. In all participating countries the project will entail a data collection strategy with tablet-supported interviews and the collection of biological data from 150 participants. The role holder will work closely with the research team at the University of Cambridge, and be responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive and secure project coordination, data collection and data storage strategy. The role holder will also liaise with partners in the project sites, providing technical guidance and support related to all staged of the data collection and management process. The field work will be undertaken at the eight sites and managing the data collection from these sites will be the main focus of this position. Data will be collected through questionnaires and biological samples collected at local hospitals/clinics. The successful candidate must be educated to higher degree level (PhD or Masters) or have equivalent relevant experience. MA/MS Degree in Quantitative Analysis, Statistics, biostatistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Economics, Mathematics or related field would be desirable. The role-holder should be able to demonstrate an understanding of research and data collection needs and have the ability to translate project needs into effective database solutions. Experience in design, construction, implementation and documentation of complex epidemiological or biological databases for research purposes is essential.
