Duties: The position implies daily supervision of all aspects of the core facility functioning. The manager is responsible for maintaining equipment, developing and following standard operating procedures, developing and maintaining customer connections and running the projects. The successful candidate will be especially involved in important analytical aspects of the CeMiSt project. The manager will also contribute to training activities, including giving technical introductions to the customers, as well as supervision of visiting students and postdocs. It is expected that the person to be hired will support applications for new analytical equipment in order to further develop the platform
Requirements: Candidates should have a Post Doc or equivalent. For this position, a service-oriented personality as well as high social competencies is essential. The ideal candidate has a strong background in mass spectrometry and analytical chemistry of small organic molecules, as well as excellent understanding of the technology involved, including liquid chromatography, high-resolution mass spectrometry and related software. The applicant should possess a core understanding of organic chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, and biotechnology and be familiar with typical metabolomics tasks. Organizational, managerial, leadership and interpersonal skills are of particular importance. The ideal applicant must have strong motivation and excellent work ethics. The ability to effectively interact with the research and technical staff within the group as well as external researchers in a team-oriented manner is a must. Advanced knowledge of English is essential as this is the working language

Apply online The Metabolomics Core Facility at the Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (DTU Metabolomics Core) has an opening for a position as operational manager (AC TAP). The position will be available from June 2018. The Metabolomics Core Facility is an analytical chemistry laboratory specializing in the interface between biology and chemistry. The infrastructure provides expert chemical analysis for molecular biology, microbial ecology, fermentation, natural product chemistry, myco- and phycotoxin analysis, and is key to enabling effective collaboration among other departments of DTU through the sharing of expertise. The Metabolomics Core Facility is located at the DTU Lyngby campus in building 221, and is centered on chromatography and advanced mass spectrometry. The infrastructure is currently in charge of running among others two state-of-the-art LC-DAD-QTOF MS instrumentations, a LC-QQQ system, GC-MS, several HPLC’s and a dedicated laboratory for semi-preparative purification of small molecules. The facility manager will work under the supervision of the department natural product chemists, Associate Professor Ling Ding and Professor Thomas O. Larsen. The position will half time be associated with the newly started Center of Excellence, Center for Microbial Secondary Metabolites (CeMiSt) led by Professor Lone Gram.
