Requirements: The successful candidate should be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience, and should have a highly-developed understanding of data and analysis of large, complex datasets, as well as the ability to interpret data and present conclusions in engaging and intuitive ways. The successful candidate should have recent experience of developing MI tools using leading visualisation technologies (such as Tableau, Qlik or Power BI), and knowledge of statistics

Within the range of services that we offer, we have identified transformation of management information (MI) and insight as a top priority. We are looking for a Data & Insight Analyst who will be responsible for contributing to provision of a high-quality data and insight service to inform UCL decision-makers and stakeholders. The Data & Insight Analyst will combine an understanding of data management, analysis and visualisation with a drive to help embed a data insight-drive culture at UCL, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a diverse set of internal customers. You will work on an ambitious multi-year programme to transform the MI landscape at UCL. Key Requirements The successful candidate should be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience, and should have a highly-developed understanding of data and analysis of large, complex datasets, as well as the ability to interpret data and present conclusions in engaging and intuitive ways. The successful candidate should have recent experience of developing MI tools using leading visualisation technologies (such as Tableau, Qlik or Power BI), and knowledge of statistics. The successful candidate should be able to work as part of a high-performing team, have experience of delivering successful project outcomes to competing deadlines, and be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. We are expecting you to successfully contribute, on a day-to-day basis, to a high-performance Data and Insight team. Focused heavily on helping UCL staff make better decisions, you will harness the potential of investments in BI technologies to use data deliver sector-leading analysis and insight to support UCL 2034. You will also be a valuable member of the wider Insight Community of Practice, working collaboratively with the Community to develop pan-UCL innovation and good practice, and you will use both technical and communicative skill to help embed the cultural importance of good-quality data. You will work with colleagues from different departments across UCL. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Information Services and be an active contributor in the wider development of the UCL Planning Service. You will also network within the Data & Insight field, in Higher Education and beyond. Your work will be of an impeccable standard, setting the bar for the team through data visualisations and analysis recognised as outstanding by your customers and peers. You will identify and explore connections across the customer insight, data management and technology workstreams, helping to ensure that planning and operational delivery are well synchronized.
