The Division of Integrated Health & Policy Research ( IHPR ) is an interdisciplinary, applied research team within the IFS that conducts research and policy analysis on health and family issues that affect South Carolina and the nation. The Division is one of 27 University-based Research Centers and Institutes in the nation partnering with State Medicaid Agencies and has been continuously funded by a variety of contracts and grants for over 20 years. While positions are posted as grant-funded, they are intended to be continuous for as long as contract and grant funding is sustained. Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions) Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Systems or related field and 1 year related experience; or equivalency Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of public health concepts and methods. Prior work in a healthcare setting or with health data. Experience with health insurance claims ( FFS and encounters claims) is preferred. Knowledge of SAS , Python, and SQL is a plus. Experience working with large datasets is desirable. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Demonstrated ability to successfully conduct data transfer, data analysis, data mining and data management using a variety of systems and data sources. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment. Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
