Text: Visiting Assistant Professor of Statistics Department Mathematics & Statistics - 32361 Vacancy Number 16F-183 Position Number 1536 Location of Workplace Main UNCW Campus Brief Summary of Work for this Position: The Department of Mathematics and Statistics (http://www.uncw.edu/math) at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for one full time visiting assistant professor position in statistics starting August 2018. This one-year position has a primary focus on teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in statistics. Minimum Requirements A doctoral degree in statistics or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment. Preferred Qualifications The search is open to all areas of statistics and related fields. Primary Function of Organizational Unit The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers programs leading to undergraduate degrees in mathematics, statistics, and teacher licensure, as well as a graduate degree in mathematics, a graduate certificate in applied statistics, and a graduate degree in data science, jointly offered with the computer science department. The department consists of 28 faculty members, approximately 20 graduate students/teaching assistants and approximately 130 majors. (http://www.uncw.edu/math).
