Major/Essential Functions Demonstrate knowledge of media and ability to work productively and positively with media Help to create daily content in the form of writing, editing and distributing the university's news stories Pitch stories to local, state and national media, arrange media interviews and monitor media trends Have knowledge of Associated Press writing style Write and disseminate news releases, media advisories, media briefs, talking points, pitches and other collateral material for reporters to raise the visibility of the university Compile media reports for TTUHSC and its agencies to keep an active record of mentions throughout television, radio, and online news sources Editor of Tech Nursing Magazine, which includes coordinating, writing, editing articles and working with School of Nursing faculty, staff and students to gather information as well as arranging photo shoots for magazine Write and edit content for social media posts, website articles and institutional newsletters Work with TTUHSC students to promote TTUHSC events Coordinate all aspects of press conferences Ability to interview experts including researchers, faculty, students, and experts for news articles and coverage Ability to translate academic and science news to a general audience Serve as a liaison for schools to gather positive internal and external coverage.
