Position: Mathematics Instructor - Basic Skills Program

Duties: Responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating contextualized instruction and administering assessments aligned with the NCCCS Adult Basic and Adult Secondary Education Content Standards for mathematics and career skills development. Plan, organize and develop lessons, units, and programs to improve students’ functional and academic competencies; integrate the NCCCS Adult Content Standards and contextualized content into Math Instruction; assess student achievement and progress using the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE); monitor student progress throughout instructional session to ensure progress toward student goal attainment, including High School Equivalency testing
Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution and a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating contextualized instruction and administering assessments aligned with the NCCCS Adult Basic and Adult Secondary Education Content Standards for mathematics and career skills development. Reports to the Basic Skills Educational Coordinator. Plan, organize and develop lessons, units, and programs to improve students’ functional and academic competencies; integrate the NCCCS Adult Content Standards and contextualized content into Math Instruction; assess student achievement and progress using the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE); monitor student progress throughout instructional session to ensure progress toward student goal attainment, including High School Equivalency testing; keep necessary class records to document student attendance and progress; and attend a minimum of 12 hours of professional development as offered. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution and a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
