Duties: The Chemical Physics and Analysis Group, which includes interdisciplinary researchers in theoretical and experimental science, has a postdoctoral position open in theoretical and computational chemistry with an emphasis on understanding crystallization in aqueous solution, classical and quantum electric field and voltage fluctuations, response to external fields, and excited state formation during the early stages of nucleation of alkali halide and metal halide crystals. The group carries out fundamental research over a broad range of chemical physics
Requirements: PhD in Theoretical Chemistry/Physics or compatible disciplines. Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university

Job Description The Chemical Physics and Analysis Group, which includes interdisciplinary researchers in theoretical and experimental science, has a postdoctoral position open in theoretical and computational chemistry with an emphasis on understanding crystallization in aqueous solution, classical and quantum electric field and voltage fluctuations, response to external fields, and excited state formation during the early stages of nucleation of alkali halide and metal halide crystals. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university. . Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate would have: Strong background in statistical mechanics, condensed phase molecular simulation methods, including ab initio molecular dynamics as well as high-level electronic structure methods. Experience in excited state electronic structure in aqueous as well as solid phases. Experience with high performance parallel computing platforms. Excellent oral and written English communications skills are mandatory. Ability to work in a highly collaborate environment, closely working with experimentalists and other theoretical researchers. Must be highly motivated, able to develop and implement new computational methods, be adaptable to new projects, and have the ability to work within a team. Minimum Education Requirement: PhD in Theoretical Chemistry/Physics or compatible disciplines. .
