Position: Senior Actuarial Analyst

Duties: As part of the Actuarial Team you will support the wider IFRS 17 Project and more specifically the GI Actuarial work stream of the IFRS 17 Project. Assess and agree on the most suitable business models to use, providing input and challenge as appropriate. Draft suitable Actuarial Methodology papers to support decisions and obtain approval form the Project Steering Committee. Analyse and define Actuarial requirements based on the proposed business operating model. Update the project plan and ensure all Actuarial activity is defined. Review Actuarial processes and implement any required changes ensuring a smooth handover into business as usual. Liaise with and manage stakeholders across Actuarial and the wider organisation
Requirements: Fully-Qualified Actuary. Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics or equivalent. A serious and professional attitude towards compliance of regulatory submissions with an eye for attention to detail in order to support accuracy. A high level of numeracy skills and an analytical approach to work is essential

IFRS 17 replaces IFRS 4, which currently permits a wide variety of practices. IFRS 17 will fundamentally change the accounting by all entities that issue insurance contracts and investment contracts with discretionary participation features. The purpose of introducing a new standard is to align insurance company reporting frameworks across the globe and increase their consistency, comparability and transparency. As part of the Actuarial Team you will support the wider IFRS 17 Project and more specifically the GI Actuarial work stream of the IFRS 17 Project. As an Actuarial SME you will represent Actuarial through the lifecycle of the project, actively involved in shaping and influencing the project. You will define Actuarial requirements, complete testing and ensure the successful implementation of any changes to Actuarial systems and processes. Key Responsibilities: Lead the IFRS 17 GI Actuarial team to: Assess and agree on the most suitable business models to use, providing input and challenge as appropriate.
