Requirements: Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics or engineering. In-depth knowledge and experience using and applying analytical software, database management system software, database reporting software, database user interface and query software, and data mining software. 1-3 years of practical experience in SQL querying large and complex data sets. Experience in Excel including pivot tables and common functions. Proficiency in Python, PHP, or other scripting languages as well as proven ability to work with large data sets
   
Text: Note: Not all unique aspects of the job are covered by this job description JOB PURPOSE: As a member of the Office of Development’s (OOD) direct marketing team, this individual will be responsible for conducting extensive data and statistical analysis to support the overall strategies and marketing plans in support of Stanford University’s annual funds. Under minimal supervision, this individual will perform the most complex technical work associated with a wide variety of analytical data and produce routine, single data sources’ information requests. OOD’s Direct Marketing team provides multi-channel integrated marketing support for Stanford University’s Office of Development. Team members work in close collaboration with schools and units across campus to achieve school and unit annual giving revenue goals. CORE DUTIES*: Work under consultative or self-initiated direction to provide review, verification and recommendation on segmentation strategy and appeal datasets. Proven experience in producing, analyzing, and interpreting data to drive actionable marketing strategies. Basic statistical ability. Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highly organized, flexible and rigorous attention to detail. Ability to use logic to calculate data; efficiently construct a database or scrutinize the form of a question. Ability to work with data of varying levels of quality and validity. Demonstrated ability to produce data in a clear and understandable manner meeting user requirements. Excellent client service skills, the knowledge of how to work well with people of varying levels of authority in multiple organizations, and how to elicit cooperation without direct authority.
