Hansmann) PhD position (3 years) I am starting my independent career at the Institute of Organic and Biomolecular chemistry supported by the “Fonds der chemischen Industrie”. I am looking for creative and passionate coworkers with interest in organic and inorganic synthesis. The research will require experimental skills from the organic and inorganic fields (schlenk line techniques, glovebox etc.) and will involve the synthesis of new main-group based reagents and catalysts for the application in organic synthesis. Possible research topics are: • Development of new synthetic methods for the construction of heterocycles • New main group based transfer reagents • Computational studies (prediction and design) of main group derived catalysts and reagents • Ligand design and asymmetric catalysis The group is new equipped and has access to the excellent analytical infrastructure provided by the group of Prof. Manuel Alcarazo and the chemistry department at Göttingen University. The PhD candidate should hold a Master degree in chemistry and show a strong interest in molecular chemistry. The PhD student will receive a scholarship from the “Fonds der chemischen Industrie” (1750 Euro/month).
