Position: Head of Communications

Duties: Developing communication strategies and producing and managing on- and offline contents and materials, with regular assessment and optimization of existing communication tools, channels and branding. Editorial management and creation of content for online FMI news, social media news, the weekly internal newsletter and the printed biannual report. Coordinating all media relations. Conceptual design, lead and implementation of special communications projects such as anniversary celebrations, inter-/intranet relaunch, social media campaigns. Supporting and consulting senior management and staff in questions of communications
Requirements: Proficiency in English and German with a confident writing style especially in English. A degree in science (masters or higher) with additional training in science communication or science journalism. At least 4 years relevant experience with a broad knowledge of on- and offline communication channels and public relations. The ability to perceive or seek out a good story that highlights the value of our science and people within the Institute and to the external world. The FMI is affiliated with the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research as well as the University of Basel. We are looking for an experienced, self-confident and talented Head of Communications 80% Description In this exciting position, you will be responsible for FMI internal and external communications. You enjoy working within a vibrant international research environment and adding value to the development and culture of the Institute.
