Position: Software Engineer Intern - Embedded Coder (Embedded Systems)

Duties: Come and join us to contribute to the research and development of the MATLAB and Simulink platforms, as used by software developers, scientists and engineers throughout many application and industry areas worldwide. Extend your C/C++ and MATLAB programming skills whilst learning new technologies such as C/C++/HDL code generation and embedded systems design. Take a project from initial concepts, through requirements, software design and implementation to deliver a fully functional prototype or shipping feature. Your project will be in the area of C/C++ code generation and host/target connectivity for MATLAB/Simulink and embedded targets such as ARM-based processors, including Raspberry Pi, and Arduino
Requirements: Candidates must be pursuing a master's level or a PhD level degree in a technical discipline. Candidates for this position must hold a valid work permit in the United Kingdom. Starting your final year of studies in a Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or Natural Science degree or equivalent. Good understanding of object oriented software design

Extend your C/C++ and MATLAB programming skills whilst learning new technologies such as C/C /HDL code generation and embedded systems design. Responsibilities You will work within our Cambridge based Embedded Coder software development team with a supervising mentor on an 8-12 week project. Take a project from initial concepts, through requirements, software design and implementation to deliver a fully functional prototype or shipping feature. Your project will be in the area of C/C++ code generation and host/target connectivity for MATLAB/Simulink and embedded targets such as ARM-based processors, including Raspberry Pi, and Arduino. Potential project themes include: Real-time on-target execution Dynamic verification Code instrumentation for run-time execution profiling and code coverage analysis Embedded systems communication protocols including TCP/IP, USB, CAN, XCP Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be pursuing a master's level or a PhD level degree in a technical discipline. Candidates for this position must hold a valid work permit in the United Kingdom Additional Qualifications Starting your final year of studies in a Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or Natural Science degree or equivalent Familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink is a plus Practical programming experience in C/C , Java or C# is a plus Good understanding of object oriented software design Why MathWorks?
