Requirements: Master's degree in the social sciences, statistics, quantitative methods or related field. Proficiency with STATA/SAS/R or survey research required. Previous experience in research organizations, especially related to evaluation
   
Text: Quantitative Research Associate - Zambia Job Location ZM Job ID 10299 Job Location Zambia Overview The American Institutes for Research (AIR), is hiring a Quantitative Research Associate for a local position in its Zambia office. AIR is one of the leading social science research organizations in the world, using rigorous research and evaluation to enhance health, education and social development in Zambia. It conducts impact evaluations on a wide range of topics including cash transfer programs, early childhood nutrition programs, education interventions, health product distribution programs, and agricultural interventions. We partner with locally based researchers to provide context relevant policy analysis and to help build the research capacity in developing countries. The Zambia office is a new but rapidly growing office which serves as a local branch for all of AIR work in Zambia and Africa region. Responsibilities The Quantitative Research Associate provides technical inputs into projects and proposals and is able to contribute to design, management and reporting of projects under indirect supervision and mentoring. He or she will help with writing research procedures, analyze data using quantitative methods and validate data and writing reports; will conduct literature review and provide input on design of evaluations; communicate project support needs and requests to senior management and clientele; utilize external resources to supplement, organize, and contribute to tasks and projects; help with budget management and development. He or she will report directly to the Zambia office director. Qualifications Master's degree is preferred in the social sciences, statistics, quantitative methods or related field. Proficiency with STATA/SAS/R or survey research required. Previous experience in research organizations, especially related to evaluation. Ability to work independently on detailed assignments.
