Duties: Senior Actuarial Analyst within the Technical Execution team will support the Reserving process, monthly reporting, Financial Plan and Strategic Business Review. May potentially contribute to Data Visualization capabilities. While Technical Execution supports our core processes, the team is also working through transformational change in order to increase the organization’s efficiency, effectiveness, and technical capabilities. Holds an actuarial qualification and, acting in an actuarial capacity, performs routine reserving or pricing tasks as assigned, and performs more complex analyses under the supervision of more senior actuaries, all for the purpose of evaluating loss reserves or pricing business

Assists in the training of less experienced personnel. Client Internally Focused - The job’s core deliverables rely on delivering service to internal clients, usually at the line manager or employee level. May involve sharing subject matter expertise to others in the organization or supporting others in their efforts to deliver on our promise. Job Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Actuarial Sciences and 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area AND ACAS Preferred Qualifications: FCAS Technical knowledge and skills reflective of a practitioner who has progressed within actuarial positions of increasing responsibility Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) and in multiple business units Experience with Microsoft Office and statistical analysis/data management software (e.g. SAS, SQL, VBA, R) Job Accountabilities Under minimal supervision, support reserving, portfolio profitability management, reinsurance, or market-facing business units With appropriate review, coordinate, prepare and perform actuarial analyses including loss and premium projections, consultation on actuarial models, or capital modeling. Support Finance, market-facing business units, Claims, Risk, Capital Management, and other functions on reserving and strategic business decisions. Support evaluation of loss reserve calculations under various bases. Ensure that the claims provisioning processes for assigned Business Unit(s) are appropriately governed in accordance with Group, Regional, and Local regulatory policies. Business Travel, as required Extended Hours during Peak Periods, as required Pass Applicable Actuarial Exams, as required Regular Predictable Attendance Additional Job Functions Contribute to problem solving on portfolios with a limited level of complexity / diversity. Adhere to professional standards of practice as defined by the relevant local actuarial society, regulatory body, or other governing body. Business Accountabilities Provide professional actuarial support and advice to actuarial business partners including insights into underlying performance and implications for the business. Analyze data and undertake complex modeling using established methodologies to quantify risk and support business decision making. Perform more complex analyses as assigned under the supervision of a more experienced actuary. Manage the flow and quality of relevant actuarial data to ensure robust output. Contribute to Virtuous Circle and Strategic Business Review/performance assessment discussions by providing insights from own area in order to promote cross-functional sharing of information. Ensure that processes and standards are consistent with internal Zurich actuarial policies and guidance and, where relevant, compliant with regulations; lead the implementation of systems and process improvements in own area. Participate in analyses and provide high quality actuarial advice to facilitate business decisions related to mergers & acquisitions and/or special projects that are outside of normal business as usual or geographic responsibilities. Research best actuarial practice and review/analyze current practice area to support senior management in developing and improving processes and systems. Make informed actuarial recommendations based on professional judgment and experience. Proactively identify professional development and mentoring opportunities for less experienced actuarial staff in order to promote career progression and maintain the talent pipeline.
