Text: The Institute of Computational Biology develops models and methods for data analysis in systems biology and systems medicine, integrating biomedical information on multiple scales, ranging from single cell time series to cohort omics data. In collaboration with the Helmholtz Diabetes Center, our Institute plays a major role in data integration and computational approaches in diabetes research, from animal models to population cohorts and patient studies. To extend our activities in this direction, we are looking for an Independent Junior Research Group Leader (with Tenure Track) (f/m) in "Computational Biomedicine" 2017/0547 Job Description Research directions may include, but are not limited to: Computational approaches to the analysis of high-throughput molecular datasets in order to improve the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of complex medical diseases Machine learning methods for risk modeling, including extensions based on complex networks and mechanistic models Upscaling of analysis methods to large cohorts and complex, possibly unstructured phenotypic data The future group leader will work closely with the Helmholtz Diabetes Center and maintain as well as extend a well cultivated and longstanding collaboration.
