Position: Account Reconciliation Specialist

Duties: Support general and/or sub-ledger transactions relevant for Group reporting as well and local Globally Accepted Accounting Principles reporting. Perform audits and review statutory (SOX) controls in line with Group internal guidelines. Process moderate to complex transactions including collections and settlements. Conduct accounting research and investigate and resolve reconciliation issues. Prepare review ledger reports and ledger tasks, e.g accruals, provisions, journal postings and explain results
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Finance or Accounting area or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Finance or Accounting area or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including and Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Finance or Accounting area and experience with Excel

In this challenging role you will perform complex account reconciliations from multiple data sources, investigate and resolve reconciliation issues and clear all open items for large accounts. In addition to this you will: •Support general and/or sub-ledger transactions relevant for Group reporting as well and local Globally Accepted Accounting Principles reporting •Perform audits and review statutory (SOX) controls in line with Group internal guidelines •Process moderate to complex transactions including collections and settlements •Conduct accounting research and investigate and resolve reconciliation issues •Prepare review ledger reports and ledger tasks, e.g accruals, provisions, journal postings and explain results •Prepare/review offshore account reconciliations on timely basis in accordance with Group internal control guidelines •Prepare/analyze variance trends and create remediation and action plans •Identify potential process improvements and efficiencies •Communicate moderately complex concepts and subject matter to supervisors and outside vendors or customers •Participate in local projects or initiatives, evaluates potential impact on local reporting units, performs local implementation of changes Basic Qualifications: •Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Finance or Accounting area OR •High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Finance or Accounting area OR •Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including and Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Finance or Accounting area AND •Experience with Excel Preferred Qualifications: •Experience reconciling and auditing large, complex accounts •Insurance industry experience •CPA •Experience pulling data and reports using Business Objects or other query tools •Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to explain complex account transactions •Intermediate general ledger transactional experience •Project management experience Additional Information Imagine working for a company that truly cares about their employees, customers, stakeholders, and communities they serve.
