Position: Professor of Practice in Industrial Chemistry
Institution: VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd
Location: Otaniemi, Uusimaa, Finland
Duties: Professor of Practice will take a leading role in building and developing VTT industrial chemistry for the future. We expect you to innovate novel and commercially viable chemical products and technology solutions and to inspire colleague VTTers to engage with the new developments. You are dedicated to identifying opportunities where chemistry can be used as a real value-adding technology enabler while you also are visionary and open for the benefits of multi-disciplinary approaches. You regard collaboration as an important asset and actively develop networks to connect relevant stakeholders
Requirements: Experience from relevant industry or other businesses, or focal societal experience. Background in chemical product design (green chemistry, industrial synthesis chemistry, structure - property - performance - formulation). Background in bio - circular economy in the context of new raw materials, chemistry, and material applications. Wide international industrial, academic and societal networks, and proven capability of stakeholder influencing. Knowledge on national and international innovation systems and funding instruments. People and substance matter leadership. Excellent communication, presentation and networking skills. PhD in relevant field. Fluent command of English.
