The new Cardiovascular Clinical Trials Unit (CV CTU) supports the development of clinical research within the Barts Heart Centre. It provides trials expertise internal to Barts and supports all areas of the cardiovascular research programme. The CV CTU is a branch of the Barts CTU (a UKCRC registered unit). The Unit is based within the William Harvey Research Institute of the Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry at Charterhouse Square. The main purpose of this role is to act as Trial Co-ordinator on the PROPHESY trial (a pragmatic randomised controlled trial of Prothrombin Complex Concentrate (PCC) versus Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP) in adult patients who are undergoing heart surgery. The post-holder will report to the CV CTU Clinical Trials Manager, Jane Field. The post is full time and for 18 months. Starting salary will be in the QMUL Grade 5 (range £37,411 - £42,831) per annum inclusive of London Allowance (equivalent to NHS Band 6 up to Pt 29 £42,046).
