Requirements: The successful candidate will have a Higher Education degree or have experience of running an operational unit in a large organisation, excellent IT skills, experience of managing and leading a team, and an ability to organise and prioritise a varied and demanding workload. They will also have knowledge of the higher education sector as well as have experience in effective budgetary management and control. Knowledge and experience of HR policies and services such as recruitment as well as a commitment to UCL’s policies of equal opportunities and the ability to work well with colleagues and students of all cultures are essential requirements of the role

Together with its partner, the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital (RNTNEH), the Institute is a major national and international centre for specialist training and research. The Institute Manager supports the Director in their role and takes responsibility for the smooth running of all aspects of the Institute?s professional service and technical operations (?8m turnover, 75 staff). The Institute Manager is responsible for: ? Leadership of the professional services support functions to ensure the provision of integrated and effective support services. ? Supporting the ongoing development and implementation of the Institute?s strategic plan. ? Financial management of the budget, delivery of agreed targets and development of business cases. ? Supporting governance, performance management and local policy development. This is a full-time, permanent appointment.
