Requirements: The successful candidate must have (or be studying) a PhD in cancer science or equivalent. Candidate must have have knowledge and experience in molecular biology such as lentiviral vector design, production and packaging, qPCR, Western blotting, preparation of RNA and cDNA and cell biology including mammalian cell culture. Fluorescence- Activated cell sorting and animal work (adult mouse tissue dissection) is desirable but not essential

A new position has become available to work on a research programme focused on the study of childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in Prof Tariq Enver?s Stem Cell research group. The position involves performing experiments using biochemistry, cell culture and molecular biology and disease modelling in iPSC and mouse models, as well as making figures for internal and external presentations, drafting manuscripts for publication and maintaining an organised, detailed and precise laboratory book containing all experiments and results. The position is available immediately for a period of 12 months initially, with the possibility of extension subject to performance and acquisition of funding. Key Requirements The successful candidate must have (or be studying) a PhD in cancer science or equivalent. Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary ?30,922 - ?32.607 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis. Candidate must have have knowledge and experience in molecular biology such as lentiviral vector design, production and packaging, qPCR, Western blotting, preparation of RNA and cDNA and cell biology including mammalian cell culture.
