Position: Junior Youth Program Supervisor

Duties: MRU Kids is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is interested in sharing their knowledge, passion, and expertise with children and youth. Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Junior Youth Program Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of all Junior Youth camps as well as supervision and evaluation of staff and campers. The Junior Youth Program Supervisor will also work closely with the Elementary Program Supervisor, Administrative Supervisor, Sports and Adventure Program Supervisor, and Supplies Program Supervisor
Requirements: Experience working with children. Minimum 2 years of experience scheduling and organizing recreation activities. Minimum 2 years of experience supervising and evaluating staff. Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills. A keen interest in STEM, Innovation, Filming, Technology, and Leadership. Experience working in a team environment. Valid Standard First Aid (valid within two years) and Level C CPR (valid within one year)

This position is a casual position ending August 26, 2019. The hours of work are a scheduled shift between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The MRU Kids Junior Program Supervisor must have flexible hours for the months of July and August. This position requires the successful completion of a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention check. Responsibilities Supervise and guide approximately 30 summer camp staff Work as a team to plan and execute summer staff training and orientation for 80 employees Communicate professionally Effectively deal with camper and staff behavioural issues Plan and execute weekly staff meetings Complete Administrative tasks, including staff evaluations, schedules, and annual reports Qualifications Experience working with children Supervisory and leadership experience in a camp setting as asset Minimum 2 years of experience scheduling and organizing recreation activities Minimum 2 years of experience supervising and evaluating staff Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills A keen interest in STEM, Innovation, Filming, Technology, and Leadership Experience working in a team environment Valid Standard First Aid (valid within two years) and Level C CPR (valid within one year) Salary: $17.40 Hourly Closing Date: Open until suitable candidate found A cover letter and resume should be submitted in one .pdf formatted document.
