Position: Learning Designer

Duties: An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Learning Designer to join Curtin Learning and Teaching on a permanent basis. This role provides guidance, advice and support in a broad range of learning design, development and assessment approaches. In this role you will support Curtin's Digital Learning strategy to progress the development of innovative learning and teaching initiatives. You are responsible for engaging with faculties to support, guide and facilitate the achievement of key strategic learning and teaching projects that support the University Strategic Plan and Learning and Student Experience Enabling Plan
Requirements: To be successful in this role you must have completed a relevant postgraduate degree in education or a related field and/or appropriate experience in learning and teaching in higher education. Proven experience in curriculum design, with particular focus on assessment and learning supported by educational technologies. Demonstrated capability and experience in professional and curriculum development with particular focus on capacity building and resource development is required. Previous experience and proven understanding of learning management systems, and online learning for usability, accessibility and quality assurance is essential

In this role you will support Curtin's Digital Learning strategy to progress the development of innovative learning and teaching initiatives. You will work within the Academic Programs Team and report to the Director, Learning Innovations. You are responsible for engaging with faculties to support, guide and facilitate the achievement of key strategic learning and teaching projects that support the University Strategic Plan and Learning and Student Experience Enabling Plan. You will also provide learning design expertise in the design, development and re-purposing of units and courses across all modes of delivery (classroom, blended and online). It is essential that you have experience in designing, building and developing teaching units and courses as well as experience in curriculum design, with particular focus on assessment and learning supported by educational technologies. You will also have excellent project management skills and strong interpersonal skills.
