Prof MacDonald’s laboratory has a long list of achievement in elucidating basic pathways of inflammation in patients with inflammatory bowel disease and working with pharmaceutical companies to accelerate new therapies into patients. Barts and The London School of Medicine, Barts Health NHS Trust and the Centre for Immunobiology at QMUL each have an international reputation for basic and translational research as well as clinical excellence. The Post-Doctoral Research Assistant will work in the Centre for Immunobiology in the Blizard Institute at Barts and The London Medical School. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, together with the ability to organize and motivate others. They should be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and innovation when faced with challenges and will utilize management skills in conducting the research. Foremost, candidates should demonstrate an ability and willingness to learn. Understanding of basic immunology and pathways of inflammation is desirable but not essential to the post. Starting salary will be in the range £33,615 - £39483 per annum inclusive of London Allowance, depending on experience.
