Position: Senior Development Coordinator (Major Gifts)

Duties: The Senior Development Coordinator (Major Gifts) is responsible for securing philanthropic gifts to support the University’s strategic priorities through the cultivation and stewardship of prospective and current donors to the University. Working within the Advancement Division, the purpose of this role is to connect with Alumni and community members, students and staff as well as corporations, community organisations and trusts and foundations who want to partner with us through philanthropy with a shared vision of excellence
Requirements: Demonstrated experience of securing philanthropic gifts and/or financial support for strategic priorities. Demonstrated experience in working with prospective donors and supporters. Superior interpersonal and verbal communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders. Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail. Stewardship and event management skills and experience. Well-developed problem solving and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, while maintaining attention to detail and time management. Bachelor degree qualifications in a related area, or equivalent work experience. Demonstrated experience in the successful development and staging of small and larger scale events. Demonstrated professional experience in effective and sustainable management of projects. Demonstrated relationship management experience. High level of maturity and personal integrity. Tenacity and resilience

The Advancement Division is responsible for the strategic, university wide, integration and co-ordination of alumni relations, fundraising and community engagement functions and the management of programs relating to University alumni, benefactors and community partners. This requires the development of reciprocal and enduring relationships to provide multiple opportunities and connections to support the mission of the University of Wollongong. The Senior Development Coordinator (Major Gifts) is responsible for securing philanthropic gifts to support the University’s strategic priorities through the cultivation and stewardship of prospective and current donors to the University. Working within the Advancement Division, the purpose of this role is to connect with Alumni and community members, students and staff as well as corporations, community organisations and trusts and foundations who want to partner with us through philanthropy with a shared vision of excellence. The Senior Development Coordinator contributes to the achievement of fundraising goals by strategically collaborating with members of the Advancement Division, Faculties, Divisions and other key stakeholders to increase internal and external engagement and develop strategic relationships.
