Position: Laboratory Animal Manager

Duties: The successful applicant will be responsible for taking care of laboratory animals (mice), management of breeding colonies and collection of samples (for e.g. genotyping). You will act as the liaison between the animal facility and the scientists in the research groups. You will be responsible for data recording using an electronic database and will assist in general logistics
Requirements: The ideal candidate received certified training in animal husbandry and has several years of experience in laboratory animal management including animal hygiene. You are organized, efficient, flexible and take responsibility while working alone or in a team. Moreover, you are fluent in English and German, and experienced in using computer programs like MS Office and Outlook
   
Text: Laboratory Animal Manager (100%) The Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI), based in Basel, Switzerland, is a world-class biomedical research institute dedicated to understanding the molecular mechanisms of health and disease. For two of our research groups, we are looking for a Laboratory Animal Manager (100%) The successful applicant will be responsible for taking care of laboratory animals (mice), management of breeding colonies and collection of samples (for e.g. genotyping). You will act as the liaison between the animal facility and the scientists in the research groups. You will be responsible for data recording using an electronic database and will assist in general logistics. The ideal candidate received certified training in animal husbandry and has several years of experience in laboratory animal management including animal hygiene. You are organized, efficient, flexible and take responsibility while working alone or in a team. Moreover, you are fluent in English and German, and experienced in using computer programs like MS Office and Outlook.
