Duties: All academics are responsible for the dissemination of knowledge (teaching and learning), creation of knowledge (research) and community engagement, recognising that there are differences in the execution of these responsibilities within the various departments and Faculties. Academics are also expected to assume some administrative, management and/or leadership duties at the departmental, Faculty and/or University level, and make some contribution to their profession. In addition, a Professor and Associate Professor are to provide academic leadership in teaching and learning, research, and community engagement, as well as to contribute towards the governance of the institution
Requirements: At least a PhD in Statistical Sciences or Mathematics (but not in Operations Research/Applied Statistics/Demography/Decision Science/Analytics/Applied Mathematics*) with experience in teaching/ability to teach (dependent on the academic level applied for) in the following disciplinary areas: Mathematical Statistics (at undergraduate and postgraduate levels): Multivariate Analysis; Generalized Linear Models; Bayesian Statistics; Financial Statistics; Stochastic Processes; Bootstrap; Classification/Statistical Learning
   
Text: 26 Oct '18 Professor/Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer: Department of Statistics Apply Academic, Eastern Cape Grahamstown R 567661 Annually Professor/Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in the Department of Statistics.
