Demonstrated experience with bioinformatic analysis of next-generation sequencing data, including transcriptomic (RNAseq) and genome sequencing data as well as familiarity with R, PERL or similar tools are essential. Research experience and/or an interest in social evolution and behaviour, or a related field of biology, is desirable
   
Text: Research Fellow, - Ref:1791551 Click here to go back to search results Apply Now UCL Department / Division Division of Biosciences Specific unit / Sub department Research Division of Genetics, Evolution and Environment Location of position London Grade 7 Hours Full Time Salary (inclusive of London allowance) ?35,328 - ?42,701 per annum Duties and Responsibilities The Centre for Biodiversity and Environmental Research (CBER), in the Department of Genetics, Evolution and the Environment is looking to appoint a Research Associate to join Dr Seirian Sumner?s group, to contribute to a NERC-funded project on the molecular basis of the major transition to sociality, using social wasps as models. The post holder will be an active member of the research team, contributing to the analyses of several large genomic datasets on social insects and preparing the manuscripts. The post-holder will be expected to produce independent, original contributions to the subject area. This post is available immediately until May 2020 in the first instance with possibility of extension.
