Duties: Scientific services in the research project ‘Optimal Transport for Imaging’ (Cluster of Excellence MATH+); the project is motivated by medical image analysis for improving the quality of disease diagnostics and aims to combine modelling, optimization, variational analysis and statistics to develop new numerical methods for image segmentation and classification; tasks for own scientific qualification (doctorate)
Requirements: A completed university degree in mathematics or a closely related discipline (preferably with very good results); experience with optimal transport, variational methods in imaging, numerical optimization methods, statistics as well as programming experience (MATLAB, Python) is preferred
