Requirements: You are a student in computer science or similar and are at least in 5th semester. You have an interest in data analysis and experience in working with Python, REST API, database and web-UI. You are open-minded, communicative and enjoy working in an international and interdisciplinary team

For the LLRF Group in the High Frequency Section of the Large Research Facilities Division we are looking for a Trainee Fault Analysis and Statistics Software for the SwissFEL RF Systems Your tasks In order to better understand faults of the RF systems at SwissFEL, a software package has to be developed which is able to: Identify faults using the machine live and archived data from the accelerator control system Analyze and categorize faults in several dimensions Link faults to other faults or user interactions Present summaries and statistics of the faults analysis, categorization and linking over a web based interface in flexible report formats to be suited for different stakeholders The work is a collaboration between several groups: You will get into contact with experts from Controls, Operations and Radio Frequency and you will have the unique chance to look into the operation of a complex machine like the SwissFEL Your profile You are a student in computer science or similar and are at least in 5th semester You have an interest in data analysis and experience in working with Python, REST API, database and web-UI You are open-minded, communicative and enjoy working in an international and interdisciplinary team We offer Our institution is based on an interdisciplinary, innovative and dynamic collaboration.
