Text: Research Nurse (Team Leader), - Ref:1782775 Click here to go back to search results Apply Now UCL Department / Division Research Department of Epidemiology and Public Health Specific unit / Sub department Whitehall II Study Location of position London Grade 7 Hours Full Time Salary (inclusive of London allowance) ?35,328- ?37,281 per annum Duties and Responsibilities This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience working with and leading a small team of nurses conducting medical examinations for research purposes, on one of the most prestigious longitudinal studies, The Whitehall II Study. Run from the Research Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at University College London, the study is now in its thirteenth phase of data collection. This involves participants completing a medical examination either at our clinic in central London or in their own home, and a detailed questionnaire. The examination includes the following tests: Blood Pressure Blood Sampling Cognitive function tests Height and weight measurements Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV) Lung Function Physical functioning measures The questionnaire includes questions on their health, medication and lifestyle. A Registered general/research nurse is required to carry out the clinical examinations according to standardised research protocols and lead a team of nurses so as to ensure that complete high quality data are obtained on study participants. Some data entry of the data collected may be required as and when the need arises. This post is full-time for one year from 1st March 2019. Venepuncture skills and experience leading a team of nurses are essential. Previous research experience is not essential as full training in all protocols will be given.
