Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure the smooth running of the biobanking/sample service aspect of the role. The role holder should have good inter-personal skills and an ability to work co-operatively in a multidisciplinary setting
   
Text: Research Technician, - Ref:1784842 Click here to go back to search results Apply Now UCL Department / Division UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology Specific unit / Sub department Department of Neurodegenerative Disease Location of position London Grade 6 Hours Full Time Salary (inclusive of London allowance) ?28,574 - ?33,487 per annum Duties and Responsibilities Applications are invited for a Research Technician post that is based at the Dementia Research Institute (DRI) Fluid Biomarker Laboratory in the Queen Square House Laboratory. The laboratory is part of the Department of Neurodegenerative Diseases (DND) at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology. We collaborate with laboratories working on neurodegeneration nationally and internationally and have multiple sensitive platforms for biomarker measurements. We also curate a biobank of fluid samples, such as serum, plasma and cerebrospinal fluid, from patient volunteers covering the whole spectrum of neurodegenerative disease. The laboratory works closely with the UCL Dementia Research Centre (DRC). The DRC, also part of the DND, is a clinical research unit focusing on identifying and understanding the disease processes that cause dementia and helping to find new treatments. Biomarkers are crucial to these aims. The post holder will provide an important link between the laboratory and the DRC. The post is available immediately and is funded from the DRI for one year in the first instance.
