Text: Research Fellow in Quantum Information Theory, - Ref:1779133 Click here to go back to search results Apply Now UCL Department / Division UCL Department of Computer Science Location of position London Grade 7 Hours Full Time Salary (inclusive of London allowance) ?35,328 per annum due to limited funding Duties and Responsibilities The quantum information group at University College London is currently advertising a two-year postdoctoral position associated to the Royal Society project ?Quantum Simulation, Duality and Complexity? led by Dr. Toby Cubitt. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct substantive research at the interface between quantum information theory and many-body, condensed-matter, or high-energy physics, and to disseminate this through written publications in leading scientific journals, oral presentations at seminars and scientific conferences, and other venues. This post is funded for 2 years. Key Requirements Candidates must have completed a PhD, or be close to obtaining a PhD, in theoretical physics, mathematics, theoretical computer science, or a closely related field. A strong background, expertise and research track-record in one or more of these areas is required. Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6B (salary ?30,922 - ?32,607 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis'.
