Position: Cyber Security Operations Specialist

Duties: Reporting to the Cyber Security Operations Lead, these positions serve as a cyber-security operations subject matter experts aiding in the development, and ongoing support of capabilities to protect the University from cyber threats and enable Curtin to expand and deliver its services. You will provide operational support to protect the university from cyber threats and ensure Curtin stakeholders receive timely and reliable assistance to enable risk-aware decision making. You will also monitor and develop all applicable security incident prevention, detection and response solutions and report on suspected ICT and information security related policies breaches
Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualification and strong relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Demonstrated understanding of contemporary and emerging information security issues. Demonstrated conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to develop outcome-based plans and to work with minimal supervision. Demonstrated prioritisation and organisational skills to ensure cyber security events and incidents are appropriately addressed. Demonstrated well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to liaise professionally with multiple stakeholders and business units. The cyber security operations team currently delivers capabilities such as cyber security incident response, cyber-related investigations, security vulnerability coordination, and coordinating implementation of new cyber security technical capabilities within the university. These capabilities are, and will continue to be transformed to ensure Curtin’s digital information and services remain protected and resilient to cyber attacks now and into the future. Occupants of this position will be required to undertake a criminal record check in accordance with the University’s Criminal Record Screening Procedure.
