Requirements: The post is suitable for a senior manager with significant experience of managing research intensive academic departments, leading effective teams and managing multi-million pound budgets. The post provides a genuinely unique opportunity for a dynamic, experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to support the management of this highly successful world class Institute. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following skills, abilities, personal motivation and experience: Experience of successful leadership of highly performing professional services teams. A proven track record of implementing strategic operating plans and delivering outcomes. Experience of managing substantial financial budgets and resources (e.g. academic department with a multi-million pound turnover). Ability to manage change and influence culture. Ability to negotiate with, influence and motivate others. A strong advocate who can build productive relationships with partners and key stakeholders. Excellent analytical skills, able to provide clear direction, plan and manage projects. Ability to be decisive and accountable while operating in a dynamic environment. It comprises staff with expertise across scientific disciplines and throughout the full spectrum of basic and translational research. The Ear Institute is one of the eight Institutes/Divisions that make up the Faculty of Brain Sciences, which itself is part of University College London. Reporting directly to the Director of the Institute, the post holder will be responsible for the smooth running of the Institute (?26m turnover, 250 staff). The Institute Manager is responsible for: ? Leadership of the professional services support functions to ensure the provision of integrated and effective support services. ?
