Position: Clinical Academic Psychiatrist

Duties: We are seeking an academic psychiatrist to work with the Forensic Psychiatry Program at St. Joseph’s. Opportunities for duties in assessment, treatment and rehabilitation and outreach areas exist and can be negotiated. The successful candidate will be actively involved with the education of medical students, general psychiatry residents, and subspecialty residents. In addition, there are opportunities to participate in clinical research activities with many resources to foster career development
Requirements: MD or equivalent; eligibility for licensure in the Province of Ontario from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Eligible for certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). Proven academic and clinical skills in Psychiatry with significant training and experience in forensic psychiatry. Evidence of demonstrated excellence in education and a commitment to teaching including forensic sub-specialty residency training. Leadership skills to assist in strategic planning, capacity building and collaboration within teams, the department, and across the region. Knowledge of, and dedication to, a recovery-oriented treatment philosophy
