Main duties and responsibilities: Day to day support of on-going clinical trials and other studies. Participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Development of own clinical research projects
Requirements: Essentially the applicant will have full registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice. The post-holder will have clinical experience and training in GUM/HIV or infectious diseases, clinical experience of managing patients with HIV infection on antiretroviral therapy. A knowledge of STIs and HIV medicine. Commitment to carry out high quality research, leading to publication. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively and manage time and work to deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. It is desirable for the post-holder to have a PhD/MD or equivalent research experience. Research experience in an area relevant to GUM/HIV medicine

We are seeking to appoint a clinician to act as a clinical trials physician and member of the clinical research group. They will work on a range of trials and have the opportunity to develop their own research project within the Centre's portfolio, which would enable them to apply for a funded fellowship and /or register for a higher degree. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the broader academic mission of the Centre including teaching commitments. The post is suitable for a speciality trainee, or someone wishing to specialise in GUM/HIV or Infectious Diseases, who wishes to take a period of research work.
