The postholder will be responsible for the development, configuration and maintenance of all Library systems, including the library management system, library catalogue platform, self-service machines, as well as OpenAthens access management system and deliver improvements in the utilisation of these systems to enhance library services for library users. They will also take the lead on future Library IT related projects, etc
Requirements: Proven experience of managing, implementing and developing specialist library systems and technologies. Knowledge of current trends in technology and systems developments affecting libraries and higher education. Demonstrable knowledge of library metadata and interchange formats, standards and concepts, including awareness of future developments in library metadata and linked data approaches to metadata

In 2018/19 the College will have some 2,300 students registered for MA, MRes, MPhil and PhD degrees and over 450 permanent academic, technical and administrative staff, with more than 1,000 visiting lecturers and professors. We are seeking an Information Systems Manager to provide a proactive, customer-focused Library service to students and staff across three campuses as part of IT, Library and Technical Services. The postholder will be responsible for the development, configuration and maintenance of all Library systems, including the library management system, library catalogue platform, self-service machines, as well as OpenAthens access management system and deliver improvements in the utilisation of these systems to enhance library services for library users. They will also take the lead on future Library IT related projects and support developments within digital learning and TEL (Technology Enhanced Learning), liaising with other colleagues in ILTS to meet objectives to support teaching and research activities. The successful candidate will have proven experience of managing, implementing and developing specialist library systems and technologies and a knowledge of current trends in technology and systems developments affecting libraries and higher education. They will also have demonstrable knowledge of library metadata and interchange formats, standards and concepts, including awareness of future developments in library metadata and linked data approaches to metadata.
