Duties: The position is responsible for the development and execution of an internal communication plan for the Office of the Registrar. The position will also work closely with other staff within the Registrar’s Office, Marketing and Communications, Campus Life, and NAIT International to develop, update, or improve RO-related communication to students and applicants. When necessary, this position will support the coordination and execution of special initiatives within the Registrar’s Office. This may include research projects, policy and procedure development review, etc
Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Communications or related fields. Minimum 3 years related experience including Web writing, Communication planning and execution; Research and writing reports and executive summaries. Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills. Skills in developing and executing communication plans and strategies. Knowledge of the student life cycle and student engagement strategies. Ability to work with a wide-range of stakeholders and functional units, and foster positive productive working relationships. Organization, planning, and project coordination skills. Strong technical aptitude and expert user of common office applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Reader, etc

As a key member of NAIT’s Office of the Registrar (RO) Leadership Team, the Information & Special Initiatives Coordinator is responsible for the development and execution of an internal communication plan for the Office of the Registrar. The position will also work closely with other staff within the Registrar’s Office, Marketing and Communications, Campus Life, and NAIT International to develop, update, or improve RO-related communication to students and applicants. When necessary, this position will support the coordination and execution of special initiatives within the Registrar’s Office. This may include research projects, policy and procedure development review, development of business cases or briefing documents, etc. Key Responsibilities: In consultation with the Office of the Registrar’s management, this position will develop, maintain, and execute an annual internal communication plan for the department. This includes coordinating internal communication efforts, providing writing, editing, and formatting support, and maintaining the Office of the Registrar’s presence on the NAIT intranet. This position will also play a key role in developing and executing communication strategies to engage and inform applicants and students on RO-related matters from application to graduation. This includes developing and maintaining up-to-date, informative, and engaging content for the RO-related webpages, myNAIT portal pages, e-letters, etc. Last but not least, this position will support the management team with various iniatives and research projects throughout the year as required. Knowledge and Skills: Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills Skills in developing and executing communication plans and strategies Knowledge of the student life cycle and student engagement strategies Ability to work with a wide-range of stakeholders and functional units, and foster positive productive working relationships Organization, planning, and project coordination skills Strong technical aptitude and expert user of common office applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Reader, etc. Familiarity with Registrar’s Office policies, procedures, and business processes would be an asset Familiarity with NAIT brand guidelines, style guides, and web writing best practices preferred Knowledge of a web content management system (such as Kentico), social media, and graphic software such as Adobe Creative Suite would be an asset Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Sharepoint would be an asset Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Communications or related fields Minimum 3 years related experience including Web writing, Communication planning and execution; Research and writing reports and executive summaries Remuneration: $2297.31 - $3078.69 bi-weekly plus a comprehensive benefit plan.
