Position: Researcher - Eco-Sustainable Product Development Methodologies for Boating. TRL Evaluation and Identification for Green Boating Technologies

Duties: The research activity will be aimed at developing a high efficiency 3D geometry manipulation code aimed at providing the analyst with a prototype software able to prepare the geometries for the multi-physical calculation of fluid/structure. Initially, commercial systems will be taken into consideration and then the implementation of an optimized procedure based on 3D mesh morphing will be started for the dynamic restructuring of the calculation grid both for the FEM part and for the CFD part. The work must also identify, after the first phase of study and implementation of commercial software, the identification of possible solutions based on Open Source software

TRL evaluation and identification for green boating technologies Campo principale della ricerca Engineering Sottocampo della ricerca Industrial engineering Area CUN 09 - Ingegneria industriale e dell'informazione S.S.D - Descrizione sintetica in italiano The activity plan includes: 1) Study of the scientific panorama and bibliography of the sector; 2) Identify the fundamental parameters of the design through FSI (Fluid Structure Interaction); 3) Implement the structural calculation model and coupled CFDs; 4) Implement a quick procedure for automation and morphin mesh; 5) Set up and solve form optimization in FSI; 6) Identify the most appropriate Open Source platform. The training plan will be developed through three phases: A) Learning and deepening of solid and surface modeling techniques using advanced software such as PTE ProE and Solid Edge. B) Learning and deepening of the use of commercial simulation software such as Ansys 16 and Femap, as well as Open Source systems. C) Learning of the multi-objective optimization techniques of Ansys software. D) Knowledge and study of the OpenFoam platform.
