Position: Regulatory Assurance Officer

Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications and with a least 4 years relevant experience in the Vocational Education and Training and/or Higher Education sectors, or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and experience. Demonstrated knowledge of legislative and regulatory frameworks within a tertiary education environment, covering Vocational Education and Training and Higher Education operations. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of quality assurance processes, including experience in monitoring, reviewing and evaluating practices and processes and making recommendations for improvements to meet compliance obligations and enhance the student experience

(Section 5, The University of Notre Dame Australia Act (1989)) Page 2 GOVERNANCE AND ASSUR ANCE OFFICE FREMANTLE CAMPUS DUTY STATEMENT REGULATORY ASSURANCE OFFICER (Level 7, Part - time 0.8FTE ) University of Notre Dame Australia G eneral Staff Conditions of Employment, and may be amended from time to time by the Vice Chancellor or the University. The Regulatory Assurance Officer’s primary role is to support the Manager (Regulatory Assurance) in developing and monitoring quality assurance and continuous impro vement activities to support compliance with the key legislative and regulatory frameworks related to the University’s education operations, with a particular focus on the national VET Quality Framework and requirements of relevant training packages. T his position may be required to work off campus, and to travel to the Broome campus and other locations as necessary. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: 1. developing and monitoring appropriate Quality Assurance processes to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory frameworks; 2. support preparation for, and participate in, internal and external regulatory compliance and review processes; 3. assist in developing policies, procedures, work instructions and standard operating proced ures to meet legislative and regulatory requirements; 4. monitor and evaluate training and assessment strategies and practices, in accordance with requirements of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015, and any other applicable professional Standards, including;  review Training and Assessment Strategies and make recommendations to ensure regulatory compliance;  develop a 5 year validation schedule;  review student and trainer feedback forms and industry consultation forms and make recommendations for improvement;  develop a schedule for moderation of assessment judgements;  ensure opportunities for continuous improvement are identified, documented in the Continuous Improvements Register, and make recommendations to the Manager (Regula tory Assurance); Page 3  identify changes in legislation, regulation or increased audit activity, and recommend activities to mitigate risk; 5. prepare reports and recommendations on issues relating to regulatory compliance and quality assurance. 6. review marketing an d other information provided to prospective and current students to ensure that information is accurate and accessible. 7. coordinate and assist with the training and professional development for staff on issues relating to compliance and quality assurance, and share knowledge to improve the quality of systems and procedures and their implementation. 8. other duties as directed by the Manager (Regulatory Assurance) or the Senior Operations Officer (Governance and Assurance). 9. ensuring compliance with Occupational 10. other duties as directed by the Manager (Regulatory Assurance) , or delegate. Page 5 GENERAL INFORMATION SALARY RANGE UNDA 20 1 9 General Staff Salary Scales (F ull T ime Equivalent ): Higher Education Worker Level 7 , Step 1 $ 85,459 per annum Plus 12 % superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading. APPOINTMENT This appointment is a part - time ( 30 hours per week ) continuous contract which includes a six month probationary period.
