Duties: To ensure all OFSTED requirements are met. To maintain registers and information of children attending the childcare setting. To ensure a safe, happy, caring and strong learning environment for all the children in the setting. To adhere to and ensure sound knowledge of the childcare policies, procedures and practices for good quality day care as demonstrated in the room and nursery inductions. To ensure all paperwork is signed, maintained and up to date in line with Ofsted, Health and Safety and Environmental Health regulations. To provide planned ability appropriate activities, supporting and developing the children’s individual interests in line with the nurseries education policy and Ofsted requirements
Requirements: Minimum NVQ3 or equivalent. Functional skills in Maths and English. Experience of childcare setting either through work or training placements. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to communicate with colleagues, parents and children. Organisational Ability. Aware of importance of confidentiality. Ability to plan and provide suitable activities for a specific age range of children. Ability to work with the management team to provide good quality childcare. Have a professional manner. Must be prepared to be flexible, with regard to ensuring shifts are sufficiently covered to maintain adult: child ratios and completing additional training some of which may be outside of working hours

Job share 20 hours per week Job category/type Other Job description Keele Day Nursery is a purpose built facility offering places to 128 children every day. We are looking to appoint a Nursery Nurse to support and complement our team. The successful candidate will provide a safe, happy and caring environment for all the children at the Nursery, offering planned activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. You must hold an NVQ 3 in Childcare or equivalent, and have a broad range of experience with children aged 12 weeks to 8 years. Functional skills in English and Maths are essential. GCSEs Grade C or above in Maths and English would be preferable. You must be able to work within a team and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
