Position: Professor of Nursing and Midwifery

Duties: You will be responsible for developing and mentoring a team that delivers excellence in nursing and midwifery research, embedding evidence-based practice, and publication of research findings in the top journals in the field. You will also be expected to participate in curriculum planning, service development processes and quality improvement activities within the university, health care organisation and government levels, as well as national and international levels
Requirements: PhD with relevance to nursing and/or midwifery. Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and Midwife. Distinguished record of nationally and/or internationally recognised research in nursing and/or midwifery, with evidence of the highest quality and/or impact and demonstrated success in external competitive grants and project completions. High level of personal commitment to, and achievement in nursing and midwifery research, policy and practice. Proven commitment to the highest quality teaching in related discipline or professional fields, including evidence of leadership in teaching and curriculum development at postgraduate levels. Significant peer recognition for professional leadership and research at national or international level. Experience in supervision of higher degree students and a proven ability to attract quality applicants for higher degree programs. Experience in mentoring early career researchers and promoting a culture of teamwork. Demonstrated record of productive multidisciplinary collaboration with senior staff, including clinicians from nursing, midwifery, medicine and allied health. Demonstrated capacity for leadership within the nursing and midwifery professions. Demonstrated capacity for leadership in research, especially in multidisciplinary teams
   
Text: Professor of Nursing and Midwifery Job No.: 557405 Work type: Continuing Take a lead role in further developing nursing and midwifery research and practice within the School of Nursing and Midwifery at La Trobe University and Mercy Health Foster and support the academic development and research of nurses and midwives within the School and Mercy Health Full-time Continuing position, Mercy Health (Mercy Hospital for Women and Mercy Werribee Hospital) and will be required to work at the Melbourne (Bundoora Campus) and any of the Nursing and Midwifery Clinical Schools. The position: This position reflects the ambition of La Trobe University to further build on its long established reputation in nursing and midwifery education and research and in implementing educational innovations to facilitate the delivery of quality programs.
