Duties: We are seeking 2 full time post-doctoral fellows to work on evolutionary cancer genomics. The successful candidates will make use of multiple ‘omics data from the longitudinal prospective cohort study TRACERx, in order to map tumour evolution, and obtain a deeper understanding of the interface between cancer evolution and the immune microenvironment. They will also provide expert mathematical and statistical support and employ noval informatics techniques based on evolutionary principles to the analysis of tumour subclonal evolution

The successful candidates will make use of multiple ?omics data from the longitudinal prospective cohort study TRACERx, in order to map tumour evolution, and obtain a deeper understanding of the interface between cancer evolution and the immune microenvironment. The candidates will be based within the McGranahan Lab within the UCL Cancer Institute and the CRUK Lung Cancer Centre of Excellence. The posts are funded for three years in the first instance. Key Requirements The successful candidate must have a PhD. PhD (or for Grade 7 PhD or be studying towards it) Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary ?30,922 - ?32,607 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis. To be considered for grade 7 position, successful candidate must provide previous experience with NGS data as well as fluent in R, Python, Perl or C and be able to present complex data at meetings. To be considered for grade 8 position, successful candidate must provide experience HPC environments, have good knowledge of statistics as well as evidence of high impact publications.
