Position: Postdoc - Mosquito Population Genomics
Institution: Institut Pasteur
Location: Paris, France
Duties: Mosquito-borne viruses cause one of the most prevalent types of emerging infectious diseases worldwide and are a growing threat to public health. Research in the Lambrechts Lab aims to elucidate the genetic factors that make mosquitoes resistant or susceptible to dengue and Zika virus infection, and ultimately devise novel methods to interfere with virus transmission. We combine forward genetic screens and reverse genetics to identify and characterize mosquito susceptibility genes. To identify candidate genes, we perform genome scans to dissect genotype-phenotype relationships using various strategies (genome-wide association study, bulk segregant analysis, adaptive scan)
Requirements: Applicants must hold (or be about to obtain) a PhD in genomics, quantitative/evolutionary genetics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or biostatistics
