Position: Medical Statistician Research fellow in Statistical Methodology

Duties: Review the methodological literature. Agree and implement a research plan. Work collaboratively with methodologists and trialists. Present work at conferences. Contribute to, and lead where appropriate, writing papers in collaboration with other team members. Facilitate the implementation of new methods in standard software (e.g. R/Stata). Disseminate the work so that it is widely used within and outside the MRC CTU
Requirements: The successful candidate will have an enthusiastic approach, excellent communication skills, and proven ability to prioritise and work to deadlines. S/he should have a good understanding of statistical concepts, familiarity with one or more statistical packages, and a good understanding of the principles of randomised controlled trials. A good understanding and experience of using statistical methods in the design and analysis of clinical trials, alongside some knowledge of the UK trials regulatory environment, is desirable
