Position: Senior Researcher in Health Economics

Duties: Lead and plan the day to day running of the research projects, reporting on progress to the health economics leads and other project team members, and ensure the successful completion of the projects; Manage own research on project and administrative activities, co-ordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines; Supervise junior staff employed on projects; Deliver work on time and at key milestones in project; Act as a source of information and advice to other members of research team; Develop and implement new and/or existing research methodologies arising during the course of the project
Requirements: Hold relevant PhD/DPhil or equivalent experience) in Health Economics, Economics, Epidemiology, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline; Substantial track record of previous research experience in the area of health economics, health technology assessment, health outcomes or a related health care area; Strong decision analytic modelling skills; Experience of performing model-based economic evaluations; Ability to undertake systematic reviews; Ability to raise research funds through writing grant applications; An established reputation and peer review publication record; Experience in handling and analysing individual patient level datasets; Strong data analysis and programming skills, especially in statistical/econometric methods in Stata, R, and/or SAS; Ability to work independently, effectively, and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team; Ability to plan and manage workload within tight deadlines and maintain high standards under pressure; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

The Nuffield Department of Population Health contains world renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. Based within NDPH, the Health Economics Research Centre (HERC) is a thriving group of health economists/analysts, with a varied research programme and a well-established reputation as a centre of excellence. We are looking for a suitably experienced candidate to support the HERC economic research portfolio of evaluations in the areas of personalised medicine and genomics-driven healthcare. You will lead and plan the day-to-day running of research projects, developing new research methodologies, reporting on progress and presenting work by means of presentations and peer-reviewed publications. To be considered for this post you will have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in health economics, economics, statistics, mathematics, epidemiology or other quantitative discipline as well as a proven track record of previous research in a relevant field. You will also have strong analytical and data analysis skills in Stata, R or a similar package and an established reputation and peer review publication record.
