Job Responsibilities 1. Research (30-40%) * Provide editorial support for biweekly reviews of PI responsibilities for the IMPAACT clinical trial network * Provide editorial support for research manuscripts including original research, reviews, and responses to Editors, for PI and research staff * Provide written materials for Budget Justification, NIH Biosketch, and Progress Report sections of ongoing or newly submitted grants * Interact with Sponsored Projects Officials, the Department of Veterinary Resources (DVR), and UPENN related IACUC offices assisting with submissions of amendments, proposals, and maintaining certifications 2. Awards (25%)* * Respond to calls for nomination to professional societies, UPENN Honors/Awards, and internal honors * Assist with dossier review for cases for the Committee of Appointments and Promotions * Request faculty meetings * Draft yearly report of awardee recipients from the Department of Pediatrics 3. Administrative (20%) * Update PI’s calendar * Schedule meetings with mentees and collaborators * Act as main internal contact for internal and external collaborators * Review and update PI’s curriculum vitae * Handle payment, reimbursement, and advanced ordering requests 4. Misc (15%) * Participate in organizing quarterly meetings (Brainstorm) with HIV faculty * Assist with responding to external officials for special requests including no-cost-extensions, Scientific Advisory Panel requests, and other submissions * Organize and review all events related to the Herman and Gertrude Silver Award * Assist with scheduling, review, and awarded disbursement of Foerderer Fund related Projects Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations Required Education and Experience Required Education: BA/BS in related field Required Experience: 2-3 years relevant clinical research experience Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic Preferred Education: MA/MS in related field Additional Technical Requirements Responsible for overall management of the trial(s) to ensure compliance with study protocol, FDA, NIH and IRB policies. Applied knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines including protection of human research subjects with particular emphasis on pediatrics, definitions and reporting requirement for adverse events, elements of informed consent, Federal Codes, Regulations and Guidelines relevant to the performance and conduct of clinical trials.
